No additives or pesticides are used for Bigwood's Spa Meal and Hana.
Herbs are used for our dog food formulas to utilize their medical effects. We have developed "dog food products
which can be safely eaten for 365 days".
Our almighty foods have been designed for puppies and senior dogs as well.
These balanced nutritional meals were derived from molecular nutrition technologies. Based on our idea that "being free of illness does not mean being healthy", we searched for safe ingredients so not only dogs but also people can eat all of our dog foods. With mostly "organic and pesticide-free rice" from Japan, mostly "bio-oatmeal" from Germany, we have a special method of freezing mixed meat and natural herbs, which are cooked less than 70 degrees celsius. The recipe was created with advice from Mr. Kuroda, a molecular nutrition professor at University of Miyazaki, and advice from Ms. Hanna Kroeger, an expert of herbal remedy and natural healing.
At Bigwood's breeding section, we have raised dogs with our original foods; and they have won numerous international competitions and dog shows. We have Dachshund and Shepherd kennels in Germany. Our Dachshund kennels were rated number one in Germany. We are proud to say that Bigwood dog foods are developed by one of the top rated breeders of the world.
Oki, the CEO of Bigwood started his unusual career in the dog food business after selling a prior successful business.
"During the 7 year R&D stage of our original dog food, at other companies I observed the reality of waste-like ingredients and pet foods developed only for maximizing company profits. This has made me decide to set a goal of developing dog food products with solid traceability and safety first and foremost. I basically felt that dog owners should make own dog's food. Bigwood was born out out of the idea to help owners who are unable to do so, provide "homemade style" meals for their dogs"
The number of domestic pets has increased dramatically, but the quality of pet culture is still low in Japan.
So a portion of our company's profits are donated to Inu Tao Net, an NPO to establish a pet culture in Japan like the one that has evolved in Germany. One percent of Bigwood's dog food sales are automatically donated to animal shelter projects of Inu Tao Net.
By donating a part of our profits to Inu Tao Net, Bigwood is trying hard to improve the surrounding environment for dogs.
